About Us

Hi our names are Tim and Paul Lynch and we are a father and son privately owned fishing charter business out of Salem, MA. Both of us are United States Coast Guard certified and licensed boat captains. Together we have a combined fishing experience of over seventy years. We have primarily saltwater fished inshore in Salem Sound and offshore in the Stellwagen Bank National Sanctuary. Our business name came from our boat name "City Hawk". Paul and I were in the process of gearing up to dig sea worms in the city of Salem, MA when a giant hawk swooped down into the rocks by the shoreline and snatched up a water rat in its claws. It then brought it to a small tree in front of us and began feeding on it. Paul and I agreed that we swoop in when hunting for fish and then feed off of our catch. This inspired us to name our boat City Hawk. Our next and current boat is named "City Hawk II". Hence our business name "City Hawk Charters". A recent charter customer thought it would be nice to share this story.
